GRAHAM
W/ AMELIE BENARD & ASSISTANCE BY IRIS FLORENTINY

(12:00 - 1:30)
Martha Graham (1894 – 1991), an American dancer and choreographer, was considered one of the foremost
pioneers of modern dance. She invented a new language of movement, and used it to reveal the passion, the rage and the ecstasy common to human experience. This class will work on the fundamentals of the technique (use of the breath, spiral and use of the center) as well as working on your artistic skill as an actor or dancer.

FREEING THE NATURAL VOICE
W/ MELISSA BARONI

(1:50 - 3:20)

This workshop will be an opportunity to explore Kristin Linklater's approach to Freeing the Natural Voice.  We will focus largely on the first half of the Linklater Voice Progression, namely freeing the body, breath, and vibration in order to awaken your creative connection to your voice.  This workshop will be taught by Melissa Baroni, a Linklater Voice Teacher-in-Training. Please come prepared with any text or a poem that you know by heart.

SHAKESPEAREAN MONOLOGUES
W/ JUSTIN FLAGG

(3:40 - 5:00)
Come explore some of the greatest writing in the English language.  Either bring a Shakespearean monologue (memorized preferred but not necessary) or a Shakespearean monologue will be given to you during the class.  Learn to express yourself freely and naturally through Shakespeare!

Fay Simpson: The Lucid Body (1:50 - 3:20)

http://lucidbody.com
Actors! Engage your mind and your body in order to develop your characters fully.

The Lucid Body technique breaks up stagnant movement patterns and expands

your emotional and physical range. Rooted in the exploration of the seven chakra energy

centers, The Lucid Body reveals how each body holds the

possibility of every human condition.

&

Andrea Caban: Mask Work (3:40 - 5:00)

12:00 - 5:00

Sun. May 23
Laura Wickens: Archetypes (1:50 - 3:20)

Layered Archetypes, a physical and imaginative approach to characterization.

Participants will go from simple characterizations to complex ones by exploring

stock characters (e.g. introvert, flirt, coward, etc.) and then adding contrasting emotional,

physical, and spiritual states. Focus will be on each participant's personal, unique

response to the archetypes and then deepening the original physical

impulse through layered states of being.

&

Dan Booth Cohen: Constellations for Performers (3:40 - 5:00)

www.HiddenSolution.com

This workshop adapts Bert Hellinger’s Family Constellation process for

performers of all disciplines.  Family Constellations bring to the surface of

conscious awareness the hidden ancestral memories held in the body.

Every breathing individual retains resonance of the pure joy and unbearable suffering

that is the collective legacy of inheritance.  Using a simple and nearly silent

group process, this workshop will deepen perception of the universal storehouse

of sensation.  Each taking a turn, we will stand in the orphan’s grief, the exile’s

lament, the soldier’s guilt, the widow’s anguish, the slave’s humiliation, the

mother’s anxiety, the father’s emptiness, the child’s loneliness.  At the end, u will

have a deeper understanding of the many manifestations of love that lay

at the heart of every dramatic story.

&

Peter Musante: Kinesthetic Response
(3:40 - 5:00)

This course utilizes sensory-based group exercises to enhance kinesthetic awareness.
Students will unleash their true uniqueness by avoiding the ego-driven
"need to be clever" and engaging with the life of the room.
It is this moment to moment availability that allows
genuine play to flourish and fuels all our creative endeavors.
